دُعَاؤُهُ فِي مَكَارِمِ الْأَخْلَاقِ His Supplication on Noble Moral Traits 1 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أَللَّهمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 1 2 cause my faith to reach the most perfect faith, وَبَلِّغْ بِإيْمَانِي أكْمَلَ الإِيْمَانِ، 2 3 make my certainty the most excellent certainty, وَاجْعَلْ يَقِينِي أَفْضَلَ الْيَقِينِ، 3 4 and take my intention to the best of intentions و انتَهِ بِنِيَّتِي إلَى أَحْسَنِ النِّيَّـاتِ، 4 5 and my works to the best of works! وَبِعَمَلِي إلى أَحْسَنِ الأعْمَالِ. 5 6 O God, complete my intention through Thy gentleness, أللَّهُمَّ وَفِّرْ بِلُطْفِكَ نِيَّتِي، 6 7 rectify my certainty through what is with Thee, وَصَحِّحْ بِمَـا عِنْدَكَ يَقِينِي، 7 8 and set right what is corrupt in me through Thy power! وَاسْتَصْلِحْ بِقُدْرَتِكَ مَا فَسَدَ مِنِّي. 8 9 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 9 10 spare me the concerns which distract me, وَاكْفِنِي مَا يَشْغَلُنِي الاهْتِمَامُ بِهِ، 10 11 employ me in that about which Thou wilt ask me tomorrow, وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِمَا تَسْأَلُنِي غَداً عَنْهُ 11 12 and let me pass my days in that for which Thou hast created me! وَاسْتَفْرِغْ أَيَّامِي فِيمَا خَلَقْتَنِي لَهُ، 12 13 Free me from need, expand Thy provision toward me, وَأَغْنِنِي وَأَوْسِعْ عَلَىَّ فِي رِزْقِكَ، 13 14 and tempt me not with ingratitude! Exalt me and afflict me not with pride! وَلاَ تَفْتِنِّي بِالبَطَرِ، وَأَعِزَّنِي، وَلا تَبْتَلِيَنِّي بِالْكِبْرِ، 14 15 Make me worship Thee and corrupt not my worship with self-admiration! وَعَبِّدْنِي لَكَ وَلاَ تُفْسِدْ عِبَادَتِي بِالْعُجْبِ، 15 16 Let good flow out from my hands upon the people and efface it not by my making them feel obliged! وَأَجْرِ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى يَدَيَّ الْخَيْرَ، وَلا تَمْحَقْهُ بِالْمَنِّ، 16 17 Give me the highest moral traits and preserve me from vainglory! وَهَبْ لِي مَعَالِيَ الأَخْلاَقِ، وَاعْصِمْنِي مِنَ الْفَخْرِ. 17 18 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, اللَّهُمَّ صَـلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، 18 19 raise me not a single degree before the people وَلا تَـرْفَعْنِي فِيْ النَّاسِ دَرَجَـةً 19 20 without lowering me its like in myself إلاّ حَطَطْتَنِي عِنْدَ نَفْسِي مِثْلَهَا، 20 21 and bring about no outward exaltation for me وَلا تُحْدِثْ لِي عِزّاً ظَاهِرَاً 21 22 without an inward abasement in myself to the same measure! إلاّ أَحْدَثْتَ لِي ذِلَّةً بَاطِنَةً عِنْدَ نَفْسِي بِقَدَرِهَا. 22 23 O God, bless Muhammad and Muhammad's Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد، 23 24 give me to enjoy a sound guidance which I seek not to replace, وَمَتِّعْنِي بِهُدىً صَالِح لا أَسْتَبْدِلُ بِهِ، 24 25 a path of truth from which I swerve not, وَطَرِيقَةِ حَقٍّ لا أَزِيْغُ عَنْهَا، 25 26 and an intention of right conduct in which I have no doubts! وَنِيَّةِ رُشْد لاَ أَشُكُّ فِيْهَا 26 27 Let me live as long as my life is a free gift in obeying Thee, وَعَمِّرْنِي مَا كَانَ عُمْرِيْ بِذْلَةً فِي طَاعَتِكَ، 27 28 but if my life should become a pasture for Satan, فَإذَا كَانَ عُمْرِي مَرْتَعَاً لِلشَّيْطَانِ 28 29 seize me to Thyself before Thy hatred overtakes me فَـاقْبِضْنِي إلَيْـكَ قَبْـلَ أَنْ يَسْبِقَ مَقْتُـكَ إلَيَّ، 29 30 or Thy wrath against me becomes firm! أَوْ يَسْتَحْكِمَ غَضَبُكَ عَلَيَّ. 30 31 O God, deposit in me no quality for which I will be faulted, unless Thou settest it right, أللَّهُمَّ لا تَدَعْ خَصْلَةً تُعَابُ مِنِّي إلاّ أَصْلَحْتَهَا، 31 32 no flaw for which I will be blamed, unless Thou makest it beautiful, وَلا عَآئِبَةً أُؤَنَّبُ بِهَا إلاّ حَسَّنْتَهَا، 32 33 no deficient noble trait, unless Thou completest it! وَلاَ أُكْرُومَـةً فِيَّ نَاقِصَةً إلاّ أَتْمَمْتَهَا. 33 34 O God, bless Muhammad and Muhammad's Household أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد 34 35 and replace for me the animosity of the people of hatred with love, وَأَبْدِلْنِي مِنْ بِغْضَةِ أَهْلِ الشَّنَئانِ الْمَحَبَّةَ 35 36 the envy of the people of insolence with affection, وَمِنْ حَسَدِ أَهْلِ الْبَغْيِ الْمَوَدَّةَ، 36 37 the suspicion of the people of righteousness with trust, وَمِنْ ظِنَّةِ أَهْلِ الصَّلاَحِ الثِّقَةَ، 37 38 the enmity of those close with friendship, وَمِنْ عَدَاوَةِ الأَدْنَيْنَ الْوَلايَةَ، 38 39 the disrespect of womb relatives with devotion, وَمِنْ عُقُوقِ ذَوِي الأَرْحَامِ الْمَبَرَّةَ، 39 40 the abandonment of relatives with help, ومِنْ خِـذْلانِ الأَقْرَبِينَ النُّصْـرَةَ، 40 41 the attachment of flatterers with love set right, وَمِنْ حُبِّ الْمُدَارِينَ تَصْحيحَ الْمِقَةِ، 41 42 the rejection of fellows with generous friendliness, وَمِنْ رَدِّ الْمُلاَبِسِينَ َكَرَمَ الْعِشْرَةِ، 42 43 and the bitterness of the fear of wrongdoers with the sweetness of security! وَمِنْ مَرَارَةِ خَوْفِ الظَّالِمِينَ حَلاَوَةَ الأَمَنَةِ. 43 44 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 44 45 appoint for me a hand against him who wrongs me, وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ يَداً عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنِي 45 46 a tongue against him who disputes with me, وَلِسَـاناً عَلَى مَنْ خَـاصَمَنِي 46 47 and a victory over him who stubbornly resists me! وَظَفَراً بِمَنْ عَانَدَنِي 47 48 Give me guile against him who schemes against me, وَهَبْ لِي مَكْراً عَلَى مَنْ كَايَدَنِي 48 49 power over him who oppresses me, وَقُدْرَةً عَلَى مَنِ اضْطَهَدَنِي 49 50 refutation of him who reviles me, وَتَكْذِيباً لِمَنْ قَصَبَنِي 50 51 and safety from him who threatens me! وَسَلاَمَةً مِمَّنْ تَوَعِّدَنِي 51 52 Grant me success to obey him who points me straight وَوَفِّقْنِي لِطَاعَةِ مَنْ سَدَّدَنِي 52 53 and follow him who guides me right! وَمُتَابَعَةِ مَنْ أَرْشَدَنِي 53 54 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، 54 55 and point me straight to resist him who is dishonest toward me with good counsel, وَسَدِّدْنِي لاَِنْ أعَـارِضَ مَنْ غَشَّنِي بِالنُّصْـحِ، 55 56 repay him who separates from me with gentle devotion, reward him who deprives me with free giving, وَأَجْـزِيَ مَنْ هَجَرَنِي بِالْبِرِّ وَأُثِيبَ مَنْ حَرَمَنِي بِالْبَذْلِ 56 57 recompense him who cuts me off with joining, وَأُكَافِيَ مَنْ قَطَعَنِي بِالصِّلَةِ 57 58 oppose him who slanders me with excellent mention, وأُخَـالِفَ مَنِ اغْتَابَنِي إلَى حُسْنِ الذِّكْرِ، 58 59 give thanks for good, and shut my eyes to evil! وَأَنْ أَشْكرَ الْحَسَنَةَ وَاُغْضِيَ عَنِ السَّيِّئَـةِ. 59 60 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَـلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّـد وَآلِـهِ 60 61 adorn me with the adornment of the righteous, وَحَلِّنِي بِحِلْيَـةِ الصَّالِحِينَ، 61 62 and clothe me in the ornaments of the godfearing, through spreading justice, وَأَلْبِسْنِي زِينَةَ المُتَّقِينَ فِيْ بَسْطِ الْعَدْلِ 62 63 restraining rage, quenching the flame of hate, bringing together the people of separation, وَكَظْمِ الْغَيْظِ وَإطْفَاءِ النَّائِرَةِ وَضَمِّ أَهْلِ الْفُرْقَةِ 63 64 correcting discord, spreading about good behaviour, وَإصْلاَحِ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ وَإفْشَاءِ الْعَارِفَةِ، 64 65 covering faults, mildness of temper, وَسَتْرِ الْعَائِبَةِ، وَلِينِ الْعَرِيكَةِ، 65 66 lowering the wing, beauty of conduct, وَخَفْضِ الْجَنَـاحِ، وَحُسْنِ السِّيرَةِ، 66 67 gravity of bearing, agreeableness in comportment, وَسُكُونِ الرِّيـحِ، وَطِيْبِ الْمُخَالَقَـةِ، 67 68 precedence in reaching excellence, preferring bounteousness, refraining from condemnation, وَالسَّبْقِ إلَى الْفَضِيلَةِ، وإيْثَارِ التَّفَضُّلِ و تَركِ التَّعييرِ، 68 69 bestowing bounty on the undeserving, speaking the truth, though it be painful, وَالإفْضَالِ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْمُسْتَحِقِّ وَالـقَوْلِ بِالْحَقِّ وَإنْ عَـزَّ 69 70 making little of the good in my words and deeds, though it be much, وَاسْتِقْلاَلِ الخَيْـرِ وَإنْ كَثُـرَ مِنْ قَـوْلِي وَفِعْلِي ، 70 71 and making much of the evil in my words and deeds, though it be little! وَاسْتِكْثَارِ الشَّرِّ وَإنْ قَلَّ مِنْ قَوْلِي وَفِعْلِي، 71 72 Perfect this for me through lasting obedience, holding fast to the community, وَأكْمِلْ ذَلِكَ لِي بِدَوَامِ الطَّاعَةِ وَلُزُومِ الْجَمَاعَةِ 72 73 and rejecting the people of innovation and those who act in accordance with original opinions! وَرَفْضِ أَهْلِ الْبِدَعِ وَمُسْتَعْمِلِ الرَّأي الْمُخْتَرَعِ. 73 74 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 74 75 appoint for me Thy widest provision in my old age وَاجْعَلْ أَوْسَعَ رِزْقِكَ عَلَيَّ إذَا كَبُرتُ ، 75 76 and Thy strongest strength when I am exhausted, وَأَقْوَى قُوَّتِكَ فِيَّ إذَا نَصِبْتُ، 76 77 try me not with laziness in worship of Thee, وَلاَ تَبْتَلِيَنّي بِالكَسَلِ عَنْ عِبَادَتِكَ 77 78 blindness toward Thy path, undertaking what opposes love for Thee, وَلا الْعَمَى عَنْ سَبِيلِكَ وَلاَ بِالتَّعَرُّضِ لِخِلاَفِ مَحَبَّتِكَ، 78 79 joining with him who has separated himself from Thee, وَلاَ مُجَامَعَةِ مَنْ تَفَرَّقَ عَنْكَ، 79 80 and separating from him who has joined himself to Thee! وَلا مُفَارَقَةِ مَنِ اجْتَمَعَ إلَيْكَ. 80 81 O God, make me leap to Thee in times of distress, ask from Thee in needs, أللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي أصُوْلُ بِكَ عِنْدَ الضَّرُورَةِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ عِنْدَ الْحَاجَةِ، 81 82 and plead to Thee in misery! وَأَتَضَرَّعُ إلَيْكَ عِنْدَ الْمَسْكَنَةِ ، 82 83 Tempt me not to seek help from other than Thee when I am distressed, وَلا تَفْتِنّي بِالاسْتِعَانَةِ بِغَيْرِكَ إذَا اضْطُرِرْتُ، 83 84 to humble myself in asking from someone else when I am poor, وَلا بِالْخُضُوعِ لِسُؤالِ غَيْرِكَ إذَا افْتَقَـرْتُ ، 84 85 or to plead with someone less than Thee when I fear, وَلاَ بِـالتَّضَـرُّعِ إلَى مَنْ دُونَـكَ إذَا رَهِبْتُ 85 86 for then I would deserve Thy abandonment, فَأَسْتَحِقَّ بِذلِكَ خِذْلانَكَ 86 87 Thy withholding, and Thy turning away, O Most Merciful of the merciful! وَمَنْعَكَ وَإعْرَاضَكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ. 87 88 O God, make the wishing, the doubt, and the envy which Satan throws into my heart أللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مَا يُلْقِي الشَّيْطَانُ فِي رَوْعِي مِنَ التَّمَنِّي وَالتَّظَنِّي وَالْحَسَـدِ 88 89 a remembrance of Thy mightiness, ذِكْـراً لِعَظَمَتِكَ، 89 90 a reflection upon Thy power, وَتَفَكُّراً فِي قُدْرَتِكَ، 90 91 and a devising against Thy enemy! وَتَدْبِيراً عَلَى عَدُوِّكَ، 91 92 Make everything he causes to pass over my tongue, - the indecent or ugly words, وَمَا أَجْرَى عَلَى لِسَانِي مِنْ لَفْظَةِ فُحْش أَوْ هُجْر 92 93 the maligning of good repute, the false witness, أَوْ شَتْمِ عِرْض أَوْ شَهَادَةِ بَاطِل 93 94 the speaking ill of an absent man of faith or the reviling of one present, أو اغْتِيَابِ مُؤْمِن غَائِبِ أَوْ سَبِّ حَاضِر، 94 95 and all things similar - a speech in praise of Thee, وَمَا أَشْبَهَ ذَلِكَ نُطْقاً بِالْحَمْدِ لَكَ 95 96 a pursual of eulogizing Thee, وَإغْرَاقاً فِي الثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْكَ، 96 97 an excursion in magnifying Thee, وَذَهَاباً فِي تَمْجيدِكَ 97 98 a thanksgiving for Thy favour, وَشُكْراً لِنِعْمَتِكَ 98 99 an acknowledgement of Thy beneficence, وَاعْتِرَافاً بِإحْسَانِكَ 99 100 and an enumeration of Thy kindnesses! وَإحْصَاءً لِمِنَنِكَ. 100 101 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللّهُمَّ صَـلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِـهِ 101 102 let me not be wronged while Thou canst repel from me, وَلاَ اُظْلَمَنَّ وَأَنْتَ مُطِيقٌ لِلدَّفْعِ عَنِّي، 102 103 let me not do wrong while Thou art powerful over holding me back, وَلا أَظْلِمَنَّ وَأَنْتَ القَادِرُ عَلَى الْقَبْضِ مِنِّي، 103 104 let me not be misguided while Thou art able to guide me, وَلاَ أَضِلَّنَّ وَقَدْ أَمْكَنَتْكَ هِدَايَتِي، 104 105 let me not be poor while with Thee is my plenty, وَلاَ أَفْتَقِرَنَّ وَمِنْ عِنْدِكَ وُسْعِي، 105 106 let me not be insolent while from Thee comes my wealth! وَلا أَطْغَيَنَّ وَمِنْ عِنْدِكَ وُجْدِي. 106 107 O God, I come to Thy forgiveness, I go straight to Thy pardon, أللَّهُمَّ إلَى مَغْفِرَتِكَ وَفَدْتُ، وَإلَى عَفْوِكَ قَصَـدْتُ، 107 108 I yearn for Thy forbearance, and I trust in Thy bounty, وَإلَى تَجَـاوُزِكَ اشْتَقْتُ، وَبِفَضْلِكَ وَثِقْتُ، 108 109 but there is nothing with me to make me warrant Thy forgiveness, وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَا يُوجِبُ لِي مَغْفِرَتَكَ، 109 110 nothing in my works to make me merit Thy pardon, وَلاَ فِي عَمَلِي مَا أَسْتَحِقُّ بِهِ عَفْوَكَ، 110 111 and nothing on my behalf after I judge my soul but Thy bounty, وَمَا لِي بَعْدَ أَنْ حَكَمْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي إلاَّ فَضْلُكَ، 111 112 so bless Muhammad and his Household فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 112 113 and bestow Thy bounty upon me! وَتَفَضَّلْ عَلَيَّ 113 114 O God, make my speech be guidance, أللَّهُمَّ وَأَنْطِقْنِي بِالْهُدى، 114 115 inspire me with reverential fear, give me success in that which is most pure, وَأَلْهِمْنِي ألتَّقْـوَى وَوَفِّقْنِي لِلَّتِيْ هِيَ أَزْكَى 115 116 and employ me in what is most pleasing to Thee! وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِمَا هُوَ أَرْضَى. 116 117 O God, let me tread the most exemplary path أللَّهُمَّ اسْلُكْ بِيَ الطَّرِيقَـةَ الْمُثْلَى، 117 118 and make me live and die in Thy creed! وَاجْعَلْنِي عَلَى مِلَّتِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَى. 118 119 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 119 120 give me to enjoy moderation, make me into one of the people of right behaviour, وَمَتِّعْنِي بِالاقْتِصَادِ، وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِ السَّدَادِ، 120 121 the proofs of right conduct, and the servants of righteousness, وَمِنْ أَدِلَّةِ الرَّشَادِ، وَمِنْ صَالِحِي الْعِبَادِ، 121 122 and provide me with triumph at the place of Return and safety from the Ambush! وَارْزُقْنِي فَوْزَ الْمَعَادِ، وَسَلاَمَةَ الْمِرْصَادِ. 122 123 O God, take to Thyself from my soul what will purify it أللَّهُمَّ خُذْ لِنَفْسِكَ مِنْ نَفْسِي مَـا يُخَلِّصُهَا، 123 124 and leave for my soul that of my soul that will set it right, وَأَبْق لِنَفْسِي مِنْ نَفْسِي مَـا يُصْلِحُهَا; 124 125 for my soul will perish unless Thou preservest it! فَإنَّ نَفْسِي هَالِكَةٌ أَوْ تَعْصِمَهَا. 125 126 O God, Thou art my stores when I sorrow, أَللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ عُدَّتِي إنْ حَزِنْتُ، 126 127 Thou art my recourse when I am deprived, وَأَنْتَ مُنْتَجَعِي إنْ حُرِمْتُ، 127 128 from Thee I seek aid when troubled وَبِكَ استِغَاثَتِي إنْ كَرِثْتُ، 128 129 and with Thee is a substitute for everything gone by, a correction for everything corrupted, وَعِنْدَكَ مِمَّا فَاتَ خَلَفٌ، وَلِمَا فَسَدَ صَلاَحٌ، 129 130 and a change from everything Thou disapprovest. وَفِيمَا أنْكَرْتَ تَغْييرٌ. 130 131 So show kindness to me with well-being before affliction, wealth before asking, فَامْنُنْ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ الْبَلاءِ بِالْعَافِيَةِ، وَقَبْلَ الطَّلَبِ بِالْجِدةِ، 131 132 right conduct before misguidance; suffice me against the burden of shame toward the servants, وَقَبْلَ الضَّلاَلِ بِالرَّشَادِ، وَاكْفِنِي مَؤُونَةَ مَعَرَّةِ الْعِبَادِ، 132 133 give me security on the Day of Return, and grant me excellent right guidance! وَهَبْ لِيْ أَمْنَ يَوْمِ الْمَعَادِ، وَامْنَحنِي حُسْنَ الارْشَادِ. 133 134 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّـد وَآلِـهِ 134 135 repel from me through Thy gentleness, feed me through Thy favour, وَادْرَأ عَنّي بِلُطْفِـكَ، وَاغْـذُنِي بِنِعْمَتِكَ، 135 136 set me right through Thy generosity, heal me through Thy benefaction, وَأَصْلِحْنِي بِكَرَمِـكَ، وَدَاوِنِي بصُنْعِـكَ، 136 137 shade me in Thy shelter, wrap me in Thy good pleasure, وَأَظِلَّنِيْ فِي ذَرَاكَ، وجَلِّلْنِي رِضَـاكَ، 137 138 and give me success to reach the most guided of affairs when affairs confuse me, وَوَفِّقنِي إذَا اشْتَكَلَتْ عَلَيَّ الأمُـورُ لأِهْدَاهَـا، 138 139 the purest of works when works seem similar, وَإذَا تَشَابَهَتِ الأعْمَالُ لأزْكَاهَا، 139 140 and the most pleasing to Thee of creeds when creeds conflict! وَإذَا تَنَاقَضَتِ الْمِلَلُ لأِرْضَاهَا. 140 141 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 141 142 crown me with sufficiency, place in me excellent guardianship, وَتَوِّجْنِي بِالْكِفَايَةِ، وَسُمْنِي حُسْنَ الْوِلايَةِ، 142 143 give me to guide correctly, tempt me not with plenty, وَهَبْ لِيْ صِدْقَ الْهِدَايَةِ، وَلا تَفْتِنِّي بِالسَّعَةِ، 143 144 grant me excellent ease, make not my life toil and trouble, وَامْنَحْنِي حُسْنَ الدَّعَةِ، وَلا تَجْعَلْ عَيْشِي كَدّاً كَدّاً، 144 145 and refuse not my supplication in rejection, وَلاَ تَرُدَّ دُعَائِي عَلَيَّ رَدّاً; 145 146 for I make none rival to Thee and I supplicate none with Thee as equal! فَإنِّي لا أَجْعَلُ لَكَ ضِدّاً وَلا أَدْعُو مَعَكَ نِدّاً. 146 147 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّـد وَآلِـهِ 147 148 hold me back from prodigality, fortify my provision against ruin, وَامْنَعْنِي مِنَ السَّرَفِ وَحَصِّنْ رِزْقِي مِنَ التَّلَفِ، 148 149 increase my possessions through blessing them, وَوَفِّرْ مَلَكَتِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ فِيهِ، 149 150 and set me upon the path of guidance through piety in what I spend! وَأَصِبْ بِي سَبِيلَ الْهِدَايَةِ لِلْبِرِّ فِيمَا اُنْفِقُ مِنْهُ. 150 151 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 151 152 spare me the burden of earning, وَاكْفِنِي مَؤُونَةَ الاكْتِسَابِ، 152 153 and provide for me without reckoning, وَارْزُقْنِي مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِسَاب، 153 154 lest I be distracted from Thy worship through seeking فَلاَ أَشْتَغِلَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِكَ بِالطَّلَبِ 154 155 and carry the load of earning's ill results! وَلا أَحْتَمِلَ إصْرَ تَبِعَاتِ الْمَكْسَبِ. 155 156 O God, bestow upon me what I seek through Thy power أللَّهُمَّ فَأَطْلِبْنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ مَا أَطْلُبُ، 156 157 and grant me sanctuary from what I fear through Thy might! وَأَجِرْنِي بِعِزَّتِكَ مِمَّا أَرْهَبُ. 157 158 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, save my face through ease, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَصُنْ وَجْهِي بِالْيَسَارِ، 158 159 and demean not my dignity through neediness, lest I seek provision from those whom Thou hast provided وَلاَ تَبْتَذِلْ جَاهِي بِالإقْتارِ فَأَسْتَرْزِقَ أَهْلَ رِزْقِكَ، 159 160 and asks for bestowal from the worst of Thy creatures! Then I would be tried by praising him who gave to me وَأَسْتَعْطِيَ شِرَارَ خَلْقِكَ، فَأفْتَتِنَ بِحَمْدِ مَنْ أَعْطَانِي، 160 161 and afflicted with blaming him who held back from me, while Thou - not they - art patron of giving and holding back. وَاُبْتَلَى بِـذَمِّ مَنْ مَنَعَنِي وَأَنْتَ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ وَلِيُّ الإعْطَاءِ وَالْمَنْعِ. 161 162 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِـةِ 162 163 and provide me with soundness in worship, وَارْزُقْنِي صِحَّةً فِيْ عِبَادَة، 163 164 detachment in renunciation, وَفَراغاً فِي زَهَادَة، 164 165 knowledge put into action, and abstinence in measure! وَعِلْماً فِي اسْتِعمَـال، وَوَرَعـاً فِي إجْمَال. 165 166 O God, seal my term with Thy pardon, أللَّهُمَّ اخْتِمْ بِعَفْوِكَ أَجَلي، 166 167 verify my expectation in hoping for Thy mercy, وَحَقِّقْ فِي رَجَاءِ رَحْمَتِكَ أَمَلِي، 167 168 smooth my paths to reach Thy good pleasure, وَسَهِّلْ إلَى بُلُوغِ رِضَاكَ سُبُلِي، 168 169 and make my works good in all my states! وَحَسِّن فِي جَمِيعِ أَحْوَالِيْ عَمَلِي. 169 170 O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 170 171 incite me to remember Thee in times of heedlessness, وَنَبِّهْنِي لِذِكْرِكَ فِي أَوْقَاتِ الْغَفْلَةِ، 171 172 employ me in Thy obedience in days of disregard, وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِطَاعَتِـكَ فِي أَيَّامِ الْمُهْلَةِ، 172 173 open a smooth road for me to Thy love, وَانْهَجْ لِي إلى مَحَبَّتِكَ سَبيلاً سَهْلَةً 173 174 and complete for me thereby the good of this world and the next أكْمِلْ لِي بِهَا خَيْرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِـرَةِ. 174 175 O God, and bless Muhammad and his Household أللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ 175 176 the best Thou hast blessed any of Thy creatures before him كَأَفْضَلِ مَـا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى أَحَد مِنْ خَلْقِكَ قَبْلَهُ، 176 177 and wilt bless any of them after him, وَأَنْتَ مُصَلٍّ عَلَى أَحَد بَعْدَهُ، 177 178 and "give to us in this World good, and in the next world good" (2:201), وَآتِنا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً ، 178 179 and protect me through Thy mercy "from the chastisement of the Fire" (2:201)! وَقِنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ. 179 |
