دّعاء يَسْتشيرDua Yastasheer
Ibna tawus in his book Muhaj al Dawat and Kafami in his book Misbah narrate this dua'a on the authority of Imam Ali ibna abi Talib who learned it from the Holy Prophet. The Holy Prophet advised him to recite this dua'a regularly, whether in prosperity or poverty, till death, because it unveils the secretes of creation and divine strategy. Words can not describe its merits. Intelligent can not describe its meanings. No sooner someone begins to recite it, Almighty Allah send blessings, and his mercy surrounds him, peace and tranquillity descend upon him. The sound of this dua'a moves to and from around the arsh, its direct destination. All his desired are fulfilled. His needs are taken care of. He gets freedom from wants and is kept safe from hardships and misfortunes. His mind opens up new dimensions of contemplation. On the day of judgement he will be received by Allah with respect and honour.روَى السّيّدْ ابن طاوُس في كِتاب مهج الدّعوات عَنْ أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) أنه قال: عَلَّمني رَسوُلُ الله (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) هذا الدّعاء وَاَمَرني اَنْ اَدعُوَ به لِكلّ شِدّة وَرَخآء، وَاَنْ اعلّمه خليفتي مِنْ بَعْدي، وَاَمَرَني اَنْ لا اُفاِرق طوُل عُمري حَتّى القى الله عزوَجَلّ ، وَقالَ لي : قُل هذَا الدّعاء حين تُصبحِ وتُمسى فانّه مِنْ كنوز العَرش، فالتمس ابيّ بن كعب النّبيّ (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) أن يحدّث بفضل هذا الدّعاء، فاَخَبر النّبيّ (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) بِبَعْضِ ثَوابِهِ الجزيل، وَمَنْ اَراد الاطِّلاع عَلَيه فَليطلبه مِنْ كتاب مهج الدَّعوات .

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِِ

All praise is due to Allah. There is no god but He, the Living, the Just, the Manifest.
اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ الَذى لا اِلـهَ اِلاّ هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبي

He is the Administrator without any minister and without consultation with any of his slaves.
الْمُدَبِرُّ بِلا وَزير وَلا خَلْق مِنْ عِبادِهِ يَسْتَشيرُ

He is the First, who cannot be described.
الأَوَّلُ غَيْرُ (مَصْرُوفٍ) مَوْصُوفٍ

He is Eternal and will live forever, (even) after the annihilation of all creatures. He is the greatest Cherisher
وَالْباقى بَعْدَ فَنآءِ الْخَلْقِ، الْعَظيمُ الرُّبُوبِيَّةِ

and Sustainer and the Light of the earths and heavens and their Creator and Maker out of nothing. He created both of them and separated them
نُورُ السَّماواتِ وَالاَْرَضينَ وَفاطِرُهُما وَمُبْتَدِعُهُما بِغَيْرِ عَمَد خَلَقَهُما وَفَتَقَهُما

– a proper separation. The heavens became stable in obedience to His commandment and the earths became fixed on the surface of the water with their pegs.
فَتْقاً فَقامَتِ السَّماواتُ طآئِعات بِاَمْرِهِ وَاسْتَقَرَّتِ الاَْرضَوُنَ (الاَْرْضِ) بِاَوْتادِها فَوْقَ الْمآءِ

Then our Lord the All-Merciful subdued the high heavens and ruled from the Throne.
ثُمَّ عَلا رَبُّنا فِى السَماواتِ الْعُلى اَلَّرحْمنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوى

Everything that is in heaven and in the earth and in between them and what is below the earth belongs to Him.
لَهُ ما فِى السَّماواتِ وَما فِى الاَْرْضِ وَما بَيْنَهُما وَما تَحْتَ الثَّرى

So, I bear witness that verily You are Allah. There is none to elevate what You hath lowered
فَاَنَا اَشْهَدُ بِاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ لا رافِعَ لِما وَضَعْتَ

and no one to exalt him whom You leaves in disgrace and no one to bring into disgrace him whom You exalts
وَلا واضِعَ لِما رَفَعْتَ، وَلا مُعِزَّ لِمَنْ اَذْلَلْتَ

and no one to prevent him upon whom You bestoweth Thy favour and no one to bestow anything,
وَلا مُذِلَّ لِمَنْ اَعْزَزْتَ، وَلا مانِعَ لِما اَعْطَيْتَ

which You hath withheld.
وَلا مُعْطِىَ لِما مَنَعْتَ

You are Allah, there is no god but Thee. Who existed when there was neither the stable sky
وَاَنْتَ اللهُ لا اِلـهَ اِلاّ اَنْتَ كُنْتَ اِذْ لَمْ تَكُنْ سَمآءٌ مَبْنِيَّةٌ

nor the broad earth nor the brilliant sun nor the dark night,
وَلا اَرْضٌ مَدْحِيَّةٌ وَلا شَمْسٌ مُضيـئَةٌ وَلا لَيْلٌ مُظْلِمٌ

nor the bright day, nor the vast and stormy sea, nor any sublime and stable mountain,
وَلا نَهارٌ مُضيـىءٌ، وَلا بَحْرٌ لُجِّىٌّ وَلا جَبَلٌ راس

17
nor any revolving planet, nor the luminous moon, nor any blowing wind,
وَلا نَجْمٌ سار، وَلا قَمَرٌ مُنيرٌ، وَلا ريحٌ تَهُبُّ

nor any raining cloud, nor flashing lightning, nor any praising thunder,
وَلا سَحابٌ يَسْكُبُ، وَلا بَرْقٌ يَلْمَعُ، وَلا رَعْدٌ يُسَبِّحُ

nor any breathing soul, nor any flying bird, nor any blazing fire,
وَلا رُوحٌ تَنَفَّسُ، وَلا طآئِرٌ يَطيرُ، وَلا نارٌ تَتَوَقَّدُ

nor any flowing water. You existed before the existence of everything and You created everything
وَلا مآءٌ يَطَّرِدُ كُنْتَ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَْيء وَكَوَّنْتَ كُلَّ شَْيء

and controlled everything and originated everything.
وَقَدَرْتَ عَلى كُلِّ شَْيء وَابْتَدَعْتَ كُلَّ شَْيء

You enriched some and reduced others to poverty, caused some to die and brought others to life,
وَاَغْنَيْتَ وَاَفْقَرْتَ وَ اَمَتَّ وَاَحْيَيْتَ
22

and made some people glad and other weep. Verily You rules from the Throne. You are of vast blessing,
وَاَضْحَكْتَ وَاَبْكَيْتَ وَعَلَى الْعَرشِ اسْتَوَيْتَ فَتَبارَكْتَ

O Allah You are Great and Supreme. You are Allah and there is no god other than Thee.
يا اَللهُ وَ تَعالَيْتَ، اَنْتَ اللهُ الَّذى لا اِلـهَ اِلاّ اَنْتَ

You are the Creator and Supporter. Thy Decree is everpowering and Thy Knowledge is operative.
الْخَلاّقُ الْمُعينُ (الْعَليمُ) اَمْرُكَ غالِبٌ وَعِلْمُكَ نافِذٌ

Thy strategy is wonderful; Thy promise is true;
وَكَيْدُكَ غَريبٌ، وَوَعْدُكَ صادِقٌ

Thy word is right; Thy command is just;
وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ وَحُكْمُكَ عَدْلٌ

Thy utterance is right guidance; Thy Revelation is light;
وَكَلامُكَ هُدىً، وَوَحْيُكَ نوُرٌ

Thy mercy is vast and abundant; Thy forgiveness is superb;
وَرَحْمَتُكَ واسِعَةٌ، وَعَفْوُكَ عَظيمٌ

Thy grace is excessive; Thy gift is most respectable Thy cord is strong;
وَفَضْلُكَ كَثيرٌ، وَعَطاؤُكَ جَزيلٌ، وَحَبْلُكَ مَتينٌ

Thy might is ever ready Thy protégé is powerful; Thy wrath is severe; and Thy stratagem is entrapping
وَاِمْكانُكَ عَتيدٌ، وَجارُكَ عَزيزٌ، وَبَاْسُكَ شَديدٌ، وَمَكْرُكَ مَكيدٌ

O Lord! With Thee are lodged all complaints. You are present in all gatherings, and are the witness of all secrets,
اَنْتَ يا رَبِ مَوْضِعُ كُلِّ شَكْوى حاضِرُ كُلِّ مَلاَء وَشاهِدُ كُلِّ نَجْوى

and the ultimate goal of all supplications, the expeller of all sorrows, the affluence of every needy person,
مُنْتَهى كُلِّ حاجَة مُفَرِّجُ كُلِّ حُزْن (حَزين) غِنى كُلِّ مِسْكين

the stronghold for every refugee, security for everyone who is terror-stricken, a shield for the weak a treasure for the indigent,
حِصْنُ كُلِّ هارِب اَمانُ كُلِّ خآئِف، حْرِزُ الضُّعَفآءِ كَنْزُ الْفُقَرآءِ

the destroyer of griefs, the helper of the virtuous. Such is Allah, our Lord. There is no god but He.
مُفَرِّجُ الْغَمّآءِ مُعينُ الصّالِحينَ، ذلِكَ اللهُ رَبُّنا لا اِلـهَ اِلاّ هُوَ

You satisfieth such of Thy slaves as trust unto Thee. You are the protector of him
تَكْفى مِنْ عِبادِكَ مَنْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْكَ وَاَنْتَ جارُ
36
37
who is firmly attached to Thee and humiliates himself before Thee, a shield for him who seeks refuge with Thee, the help of him
مَنْ لاذَ بِكَ وَتَضَرَّعَ اِلَيْكَ عِصْمَةُ مَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِكَ ناصِرُ

who looks up to Thee for help, the forgiver of sins for him who begs Thy pardon,
مَنِ انْتَصَرَ بِكَ تَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ لِمَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَكَ
38
39
the complier of the tyrant, the most grand of the grand, the most great of the great,
جَبّارُ الْجَبابِرَةِ، عَظيمُ الْعُظَمآءِ كَبيرُ الْكُبَرآءِ
39
40
the master of masters, the Lord of lords, the Succour of the grieved, the Helper of those crying for help,
سَيِّدُ السّاداتِ مُوْلَى الْمَوالى صَريخُ الْمُسْتَصْرِخينَ مُنَفِّسٌ عَنِ الْمَكْروُبينَ

the Responder to the call of the distressed, the best of all listeners, the best of all observers,
مُجيبُ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّينَ اَسْمَعُ السّامِعينَ اَبْصَرُ النّاظِرينَ

the best of all judges, the quickest of all reckoners, the most merciful of all the merciful the best of all forgivers,
اَحْكَمُ الْحاكِمينَ اَسْرَعُ الْحاسِبينَ اَرْحَمُ الرّاحِمينَ خَيْرُ الغافِرينَ

the satisfier of the needs of the faithful, and the hearer of the appeals of the virtuous.
قاضى حَوآئِج الْمُؤْمِنينَ مُغيثُ الصّالِحينَ

You are Allah, there is no god but Thee. You are the Cherisher and Sustainer of all the worlds
اَنْتَ اللهُ لا اِلـهَ اِلاّ اَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعالَمينَ

You are the Creator and I am a creature. You are the Master and I am a servant,
اَنْتَ الْخالِقُ وَاَنَا الَْمخْلوُقُ وَاَنْتَ الْمالِكُ وَاَنَا الْمَمْلوُكُ

You are the Creator and I am a creature. You are the Master and I am a servant,
وَاَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَاَنَا الْعَبْدُ وَاَنْتَ الرّازِقُ وَاَنَا الْمَرْزُوقُ

You are the Giver while I am a beggar, You are the Generous while I am a miser.
وَاَنْتَ الْمُعْطى وَاَنَا السّآئِلُ وَاَنْتَ الْجَوادُ وَاَنَا الْبَخيلُ
47

You are the Mighty while I am weak, You are the Noble while I am humble.
وَاَنْتَ الْقَوِىُّ وَاَنَا الضَّعيفُ وَاَنْتَ الْعَزيزُ وَاَنَا الذَّليلُ

You are the independent while I am needy. You are the Master while I am slave.
وَاَنْتَ الْغَنِىُّ وَاَنَا الْفَقيرُ، وَاَنْتَ السَّيِّدُ وَاَنَا الْعَبْدُ

You are the Forgive of sins while I am sinful. You are the Omniscient while I am ignorant.
وَاَنْتَ الْغافِرُ وَاَنَا الْمُسـيئُ وَاَنْتَ الْعالِمُ وَاَنَا الْجاهِلُ

51
You are the forbearing while I am hasty. You are the All-Merciful and I have been treated with mercy.
وَاَنْتَ الْحَليمُ وَاَنَا الْعَجُولُ، وَاَنْتَ الرَّحْمنُ وَاَنَا الْمَرْحُومُ

52
You are the Provider of safety but I am involved in suffering. You are the Responder and I am the distressed.
وَاَنْتَ الْمُعافى وَاَنَا الْمُبْتَلى، وَاَنْتَ الُْمجيبُ وَاَنَا الْمُضْطَرُّ

And I bear witness that verily You are Allah, there is no god but thee
وَاَنَا اَشْهَدُ بِانَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ لا اِلـهَ اِلاّ

thou bestoweth favours upon Thy slaves even without their asking.
اَنْتَ الْمُعْطى عِبادَكَ بِلا سُؤال

And I bear witness that verily You are Allah, the One, the Peerless,
وَاَشْهَدُ بَاِنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ الْواحِدُ الاَْحَدُ

the Unique, the independent, the Single, and verily to Thee we must return.
الْمُتَفَرِّدُ الصَّمَدُ الْفَرْدُ وَاِلَيْكَ الْمَصيرُ

May the blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and his family the holy and pure.
وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلى مُحَمَّد وَاَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبينَ الطّاهِرينَ
57
58
O Lord, forgive my sins and keep my faults concealed
وَاغْفِرْ لى ذُنُوبى وَاسْتُرْ عَلَىَّ عيُوُبى
58
59
and extend to me Thy special mercy and bounteous sustenance
وَافْتَحْ لى مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَرِزْقاً واسِعاً
59
60
O the All-merciful! All praise is due to Allah the Cherisher and sustainer of all the worlds
يا اَرْحَمَ الرّاحِمينَ وَالْحَمْدُ للهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ
60

And for us Allah is the Sufficiency and the excellent Protector.
وَحَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنْعِمَ الْوَكيلُ

There is neither might nor power but with Allah the Great, the Exalted.
وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ اِلاّ بِاللهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظيم
